It has been said that "the church exists by missions as a fire exists by burning". At Legacy Baptist Church, we believe that missions is the heart of God, and ought to be the heart of every born-again believer in Jesus Christ. A part of our devotion to the word of God rests in our dedication to seeing God's word spread throughout the world.
At this time Legacy Baptist Church is young and small. We do not yet have the financial capacity to support missionaries with regular and consistent funding. However, we are a church that actively gives to missionaries out of the abundance that God has given us, and we also actively pray for those who are on the mission field, both foreign and domestic.
Legacy Baptist Church's philosophy of missions is different from that of most churches. Whereas many churches sincerely and devotedly give moderate financial support to numerous missionaries, it is the conviction of Legacy that we will devote more of our finances to fewer missionaries, in order to facilitate their ability to get on the field, stay on the field, and report to fewer churches upon their return. This philosophy furthermore allows the church body to have a more focused interest in the physical and spiritual well-being of each missionary, benefitting those at home as much at the missionary who is abroad.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
- Matthew 28:19-20
